Fallout 4 spectre m410/4/2023 ![]() ![]() Pretty sure I posted this last year of a wild boar I took with a shotgun? The tractor bucket will give you an idea of how big these brutal fucks can get. Like velociraptor sneaky setting up an ambush and waiting for you smart. Plus, they are much smarter than any other game animal in North America. Bears and wolves and cougars would rather just get away from you unless cornered or protecting their young. One of the very few animals in North America that really wants to fuck you up. A frikken adrenalin rush like you would not believe. Hornady, when you care enough to send the very best. Check out this vid for penetration results and wound cavity info: Besides the extreme pucker factor, you are being presented with the worst possible shot, a moving head complete with body armor and blocking the vital organs. Those are tougher shots because the boar is running straight at you, screaming, slinging his head from side to side and throwing dirt in the air with his tusks. When I go hunting hogs (on purpose, not during deer season) I normally take my Ruger Blackhawk in 45 long colt and have taken angry large males over 350lbs without having to climb a tree or resort to my backup (which is always the Para). Hornady claims 950 fps from the muzzle, but I expect it's more like 875 fps in the real world. I carry Hornady 230 grain +P ammo in the Para which has excellent penetration and expansion - some of the best ammo on the planet. He didn't see, hear, or smell us and I got a pretty decent profile shot at him. This was an immature male that dressed out at something like 80lbs, so not too concerned with him shrugging off the. He dropped like a brick, right where he stood. 45 and the follow up shot just happened reflexively. I routinely practice double taps with my. Shot him right in the ear, my follow up shot hit him in the neck, but he was already done for with the first shot. I am going to stick it on my super-shorty and see if I like it. It is supposed to make it easier to maintain good form in the squared-off firing position that is en vogue these days. It is very slim, short, and has the 15 degree grip angle. The other thing of interest is the MOE K grip in the box in the first picture. It will look identical to this when my Bravo lowers get in, except they will have black furniture: Here is the 16" upper sitting on my test-mule lower. It would be the retro-rifle that never was. I am thinking of going in a very different direction and replacing the A3 receiver with an A2. However, I chickened out when I went to cut the delta ring off the shorty. I bought two identically configured Bravo lowers, two Centurion rails, and two EOTech 512s for them. This way, when an event pops up without enough notice to get the travel forms filled for the shorty, I'd have the nearly identical midlength. I bought these with the idea that I would build them to identical configuration. The lower one is a Kino, with the gas block and front sight base separate, the later in the mid-length position. These are both Bravo complete uppers with Bravo bolt groups and charging handles. So while technically not Christmas presents, I got the whole Christmas experience. ![]() My wife wrapped it up while I was away at work, and set it under the tree. Following my trip to Florida in November a few pages back, I bought some stuff from my old shop. Only had a few days, so I didn't spend a whole lot of time setting up pictures. Thunder Five 45 long colt / 410 pistol $550 (paid $450) sold for $500įor anybody not doing the math, that's a profit of $1025.00 over what I paid for them and I got to own and shoot them and enjoy them for as long as I had them. 30 carbine 7.5" barrel single action blued $500 (paid $400) sold for $450Ĩ. 22 rifle ss with scope & case - $425 (paid $300) sold for $425Ħ. Stoeger Condor 12ga o/u shotgun - $350 (paid $250) sold for $325ģ. Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 magnum 7.5" barrel ss - $625 (paid $500) sold for $600Ģ. Just got back from the latest gun show, which beat all three of the last shows for attendance. I'm looking at another auction for two more mags - a 30 rounder and a 50 rounder - the guy wants $350 for the pair. This one has two 30 round mags and a 50 round mag - so if you found one, you could use the lower capacity mags without issue. It has the double action to single action trigger, so you're probably right - it will suck in that regard. It will probably show up just in time for christmas. I don't have it yet, it's in route from the seller to my FFL here.
